The Clematis Notebook is an independent gardening guide devoted to clematis: how to choose them, plant them, prune them and grow them well in British gardens.

We are not a nursery

We do not grow, sell or ship plants, and we sell nothing at all. The Clematis Notebook is not affiliated with any nursery, grower, breeder or garden centre. This web address was previously used by a different business; we have no connection with it, cannot take or trace orders, and cannot answer questions about plants bought in the past. If you are looking for plants, please buy from a reputable nursery or garden centre of your choice.

How we write our guides

Our articles are written to be practical, accurate and original. Facts, measurements and variety details are checked against reliable sources, such as the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), the British Clematis Society, the International Clematis Society, botanic gardens and university extension services, and each article lists the sources we used so that you can read further. Where respected sources differ, for example on planting depth, we say so rather than pick one at random. We do not publish invented figures or testimonials, and we correct errors promptly when they are pointed out.
